Are you in our bucket?

The committee met tonight at the school, where we had a learning session with Ian Hill.  Not only is Ian the founder of the Let Them Be Kids Foundation, he is our coach for the Pearson Park project.

Ian has talked us through our next stage in planning the building of our community gathering place.  The committee has to write out a list of possible people, businesses, organizations, and government agencies that may be able to help us acheive our goals.

When we have our dotmocracy on March 1st, we will have a real idea of what the financial goals will be.  Students from Pearson Academy, Lumsden Academy, and Heritage Academy along with adults in the community and preschoolers will have the opportunity to attach seven dots each to their favorite pieces of playground equipment, fitness equipment, and other park elements displayed on a number of large posters.  When we see which pieces are desired the most, we'll have a shopping list and a fundraising goal!

Then we need to make our fundraising goals and our fundraising plan match up.

We have a very short time to make all of this happen.  What can you do to help out?  Talk to the groups you are involved with and make a plan to hold a bake sale, a soup supper, a ticket sale, a walk-a-thon, a bottle drive, a concert, or anything else that you would like to take part in to help build your community park!
